Socio-Legal Review Essay Competition

Socio-Legal Review logoThe Socio-Legal Review (National Law School of India Bangalore), with Khaitan and Co. and Sterling Developers, announces the 3rd Annual Essay Competition 2012-13, as part of its initiative to encourage writing on issues of contemporary relevance among students in South Asia.

The topics for this year’s competition are:

a. Legislating on Land Acquisition: A Possible Consensual Model?
b. Extending Social Security to Developing Countries
c. The Viability of Supra-State Entities: The EU and Beyond

Submissions should be sent to slr[at]nls.ac.in on or before March 31, 2013.

Submission details: The essay should contain 2000 to 3000 words. This Competition is open to all undergraduate students studying in South Asia. Joint submissions are not permitted.
Each submission should be accompanied by a separate cover page stating the author’s name, institution, degree, year of stu , telephone number and postal address. Please send all clarifications to slr[at]nls.ac.in with the subject ‘Essay Competition Query’. Prize money of Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 4,000 will be awarded to first, second and third place, respectively.
