Santa Clara University School of Law will host GDPR v CCPA, March 21, 2019, 9:00am – 10:30am. Just as organizations were wrapping up their EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance efforts, another shift in data privacy was enacted. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) was signed by Governor Brown on June 28, 2018, and is arguably the strongest US consumer data privacy law to date. This event will explore the similarities and differences between these two regulations with a focus on how organizations can leverage their GDPR compliance efforts to ensure compliance with CCPA.
GDPR v CCPA is co-sponsored by FieldFisher, the California Lawyers Association Business Law Section, the High Tech Law Institute, and the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University.
