On September 12-13, 2013, the Center for the Protection of Intellectual Property will host its inaugural conference on patent law, The Commercial Function of Patents in Todays Innovation Economy, at George Mason University School of Law. The conference panels will address the function of the commercial system in the creation and distribution of patented innovation.
Recent discussions about patents have focused almost entirely on litigation, but what goes on every day in the innovation industries is the creation and development of new business models and private ordering mechanisms that bring innovation into the hands of people across the world.
