Proportionality: A Transversal Principle? — London, UK

The British Institute of International and Comparative Law presents Proportionality: A Transversal Principle? Comparative Law Perspectives Sept. 28, 2012.

This conference, which is organised by the UK and French judiciary and academics, brings together academics and members of the judiciary to examine the notion of proportionality. Proportionality is a flexible principle which plays a central role in international, European and national law, and is applied in core public law cases (judicial review of governmental action or constitutional review), in criminal law cases as well as increasingly in a private law scenario. This seminar will examine the operation of the principle in different legal systems, and attempt to deconstruct the concept.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
