The Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review (ELPAR) is a special issue of the Environmental Law Reporter (ELR) , published in collaboration with the Vanderbilt University Law School (VULS) and the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) in Washington, DC. Each year, Vanderbilt Law students work with an expert advisory committee and senior staff from ELI to identify the year’s best academic articles that present legal and policy solutions to pressing environmental problems. The result is a one issue, student-edited volume that includes condensed versions of the selected articles, along with commentaries from leading experts from the academy, law firms, business, government and non-governmental organizations.

In conjunction with the publication, ELI and Vanderbilt co-sponsor an annual conference at which the authors of the articles and comments present their ideas and views to an audience that includes business, government (federal, state, and local), think tank, and non-profit representatives.

We will discuss the following articles on April 13, 2012 on Capitol Hill, Washington, DC:

The Mid-Atlantic Journal on Law and Public Policy is a new, region-focused journal. The Journal will publish two editions annually and welcomes article submissions for its first animal law edition to be published on July 1, 2012.

The Journal will have Westlaw and LexisNexis citations. Articles for the animal law edition should generally discuss the intersection of animals and current law and policy concerns. Submissions, which should provide a comparative exploration of as many states in the mid-Atlantic region as possible, will be considered for potential publication.

Abstracts were originally due by March 1, 2012, but the editors are still accepting submissions. The Journal will publish twice a year, so submissions for future issues are also welcome.

Completed articles will be due by April 1, 2012. Alternatively, if you have a completed article, you may submit it along with an abstract summarizing the article to us. Priority consideration will be given to completed articles. To submit your application consisting of your abstract and/or article, resume and cover letter, or to pose any questions you may have, please contact the Journal staff at MidAtlanticJournal [at] Gmail.com.
