Performers’ Rights — Nashville, TN

The Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law presents From Berne to Beijing: The Past, Present, and Future of Performers’ Rights Jan. 25, 2013.

The symposium . . . will examine the creative rights of performers in the United States and abroad. Through an exploration of the creative-rights structures in the film, music, and theater industries, and an “inside-baseball” look at the newly-signed WIPO Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances, the Symposium will alternately explain, defend, and challenge the underlying legal principles that allow performers (and other creators) to monetize their craft. The day-long event will feature presentations by and dialogue between well-known legal scholars and elite creative industry practitioners in four separate panels, along with a special lunch presentation by Congressman Jim Cooper.
