The Harvard Journal of Law & Gender will host a conference on Darren Rosenblum’s article Unsex Mothering: Toward a New Culture of Parenting Feb. 13, 2012, 5-7 pm. The author will discuss his piece, with responses from Professor Duncan Kennedy (HLS), Professor Mary Anne Case (U. Chicago), Professor Elizabeth Emens (Columbia), Professor Suzanne Kim (Rutgers), and Katherine Kraschel (HLS ’12). The journal also solicited written responses from twenty scholars in the field for an online colloquium. mw

Renewable Energy Law – Brussels, Belgium

In cooperation with the European Renewable Energies Federation (EREF) and the law firm Becker Büttner Held (BBH), Lexxion presents the Conference on Renewable Energy Law 2012 on March 8, in Brussels.
On the agenda there are two major topics:

  •   Market development and support and incentives for renewables
  •   Grid development and system transformation

Legal History Grant Granted – Washington, DC

The George Washington University Law School has awarded the first annual Richard & Diane Cummins Legal History Research Grant to Michel Morin, a professor of the law faculty at the Université de Montréal. The Cummins Grant provides a $10,000 stipend to support short-term historical research using the Special Collections Department at GW’s Jacob Burns Law Library. Press release is here.

This year’s deadline for applying was Nov. 1, 2011, so watch for information next summer and fall for the next grant.
